25esimo Cyprus Film Days International Festival – Call for submissions

Il vice Ministro della Cultura di Cipro e il Teatro Rialto lanciano un bando per la presentazione di lungometraggi nelle due sezioni competitive dei “Cyprus Film Days“, il film festival internazionale di Cipro.
Il Festival mira ad ampliare i propri orizzonti oltre i confini geografici di Cipro, e ad attrarre professionisti e audience dell’industria cinematografica internazionale, trasformando così Cipro in un punto d’incontro per i tre continenti vicini.
La 25a edizione dei Cyprus Film Days IFF si terrà dal 16 al 24 aprile 2027, a Nicosia e a Limassol.
I lungometraggi da presentare devono essere produzioni del 2025, 2026 o 2027.
È possibile presentare il proprio film a questo link fino al 30/11/2026.
SEZIONI COMPETIVE
A. “Glocal Images” international competition section
La sezione Glocal Images accetta film che mettono in risalto le sfumature delle culture locali ed esplorano, in modo innovativo, temi di rilevanza globale.
Una giuria internazionale indipendente assegnerà i seguenti premi:
- Miglior film: €6.000 ex aequo per produttore (€3.000) e regista (€3.000) del film
- Premio speciale della Giuria: €3.000 ex aequo per produttore (€1.500) e regista (€1.500) del film
- Miglior regista: €1.000
- Miglior fotografia: €1.000, offerto da Caretta Films
- La giuria può anche assegnare fino a tre menzioni d’onore, una delle quali a un attore o un’attrice. Queste menzioni non sono accompagnate da un premio in denaro.
B. Cypriot Film competition section
La sezione dedicata al concorso cinematografico cipriota accetta film ciprioti in conformità con le norme e i regolamenti del Festival. Questi film devono soddisfare criteri specifici per poter essere selezionati.
La giuria assegnerà i seguenti premi:
- Miglior film cipriota: €4.000 ex aequo per produttore (€2.000) e regista (€2.000) del film. Inoltre, il premio garantisce anche l’uso dello Studio, offerto dal CYENS Centre of Excellence.
- Secondo premio per il miglior film cipriota: servizi del valore di €6.000 offerti da MASTER AND SLAVE, corrispondenti al 50% del costo del missaggio finale 5.1 surround per un lungometraggio, per un valore totale di €12.000.
- Miglior regista: servizi di post produzione (Post Production Cinema and Platform Mastering Services) del valore di €7.000 offerti da AUTHORWAVE
- Migliore performance: €2.000, destinati a un attore o un’attrice cipriota, offerti dal Comune di Limassol
- La giuria può anche assegnare fino a tre menzioni d’onore (una delle quali per la fotografia). Queste menzioni non sono accompagnate da un premio in denaro.
E. Audience Award
I film che partecipano alle due sezioni competitive ufficiali, Glocal Images e Cypriot Films Competition, sono automaticamente eleggibili per il Premio del Pubblico, accompagnato da un importo di €2.000 offerto da BREAKING WAVE PRODUCTIONS.
La selezione dei film per entrambe le sezioni (nazionale e internazionale) è ad opera dei Direttori Artistici del Festival.

The Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and the Rialto Theatre launch a call for submission of feature films in the two competition sections of “Cyprus Film Days“, the official international film festival of Cyprus.
The Festival aims to broaden its horizons beyond the geographical boundaries of Cyprus, as well as to attract international film industry professionals and audiences, thereby turning Cyprus into a meeting hub for the three neighbouring continents.
The 25th edition of Cyprus Film Days IFF will take place between 16 and 24 April 2027, both in Nicosia and Limassol.
The feature films to be submitted must be 2025 or 2026 or 2027 productions.

COMPETITIVE SECTIONS
A. “Glocal Images” international competition section
The Glocal Images international competition section accepts films that highlight the nuances of local cultures while exploring, in innovative ways, themes of global relevance.
An independent International Jury will award the following prizes:
- Best Film Award: €6,000, paid in half (ex aequo) to the producer (€3,000) and the director (€3,000) of the film
- Special Jury Award: €3,000, paid in half (ex aequo) to the producer (€1,500) and the director (€1,500) of the film
- Best Director Award: €1,000
- Best Cinematography Award: €1,000 sponsored by Caretta Films.
- The jury may also give up to three Honorary Distinctions, one of which to an actor or actress. These distinctions are not accompanied by a monetary prize.
B. Cypriot Film competition section
The Cypriot Film competition section accepts Cypriot films pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Festival. These films must meet specific criteria to be eligible for selection.
The Jury will award the following prizes:
- Best Cypriot Film Award: €4,000 paid in half (ex aequo) to the producer (€2,000) and the director (€2,000) of the film. In addition the award also grants use of The Studio, offered by the CYENS Centre of Excellence.
- Second Prize for Best Cypriot Film: services valued at €6,000, offered by MASTER AND SLAVE, corresponding to 50% of the cost of the final 5.1 surround sound mix for a feature-length film, with a total value of €12,000.
- Best Director Award: post production services (Post Production Cinema and Platform Mastering Services) valued at €7,000, offered by AUTHORWAVE
- Best Performance Award: €2,000, awarded to a Cypriot actor/actress, sponsored by Limassol Municipality.
- The jury may also give up to three Honorary Distinctions (one of which for Cinematography). These distinctions are not accompanied by a monetary prize.
E. Audience Award
Films participating in the two official competition sections, the Glocal Images International Competition Section and the Cypriot Films Competition Section, are automatically eligible for the Audience Award, accompanied by the amount of €2,000, offered by BREAKING WAVE PRODUCTIONS.
The selection of films competing in both sections (National and International) is made by the Festival’s Artistic Directors.
